London Congestion Charging 6 months on

Abstract: Six months after the introduction of the London Congestion Charging Scheme, surveys show 50,000 fewer cars per day are being driven in the charging zone. The majority of car drivers has switched to public transport or other modes of transport such as bicycles and scooters. Some results: * Cycling in the congestion zone has increased by 30%; * Congestion has dropped by around 30%; * 20% reduction in the number of accidents within the zone.
